Australian Award Scholarship. This fellowship provides opportunities for talented students from developing countries, particularly those in the Indo-Pacific region. To pursue undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Australian universities and technical and TAFE institutions. This fellowship, also known as ADS Scholarships, (Australian Development Scholarships)

Benefits of Australia Awards Scholarships

Almost all the minimum required facilities for a student during the course are provided in this fellowship including:

  • Australian Award Scholarship covers full tuition fees.
  • At the end of the course, an economy-class air ticket will be provided to return to your home country.
  • A one-time payment will be made towards the cost of establishment allowance, accommodation, textbooks, and study materials.
  • A stipend will be provided to cover basic living expenses.
  • This scholarship will cover your IAP program fees. This is a mandatory Introductory Academic Program (IAP). That must be completed before starting formal academic studies. This program outlines how you will cover the costs of living and studying in Australia.
  • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). Will be provided to cover the basic medical expenses of overseas students.
  • If deemed necessary, Pre-Course English (PCE) fees may be available for students, with training either in-country or in Australia.
  • Extra academic support may be available to ensure students experience academic success.

Eligibility Criteria:

To get an Australian Award Scholarship or Australian Development Scholarships (ADS) the eligibility criteria that the applicants have to fulfill are:

  1. Applicant must be at least 18 years old.
  2. Applicants must be citizens of the participating countries and apply for the scholarship from their own country.
  3. Applicants who are Australian citizens, permanent residents of Australia, or have applied for a permanent resident visa will not be considered eligible for this scholarship.
  4. Students who are citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
  5. Cook Islands and Tokelau residents who are New Zealand citizens will also be considered eligible for the Australian Award Scholarship.
  6. Applicants who are currently serving in the military will not be considered eligible.
  7. Those who have not received Australia Award Scholarships in the last four years.
  8. Applicants must fulfill the admission criteria set by the hosting university.
  9. Applications for courses of study at a lower academic level than those already achieved will not be accepted. (eg, a person applying for a master’s scholarship already possesses a PhD).

Required Documents for Australian Award Scholarship

All the documents required to complete the online application for ADS scholarships are as follows:

  • A certified copy of the original formal degree graduation certificate.
  • a certified copy of the original formal academic transcript/s.
  • a certified copy of a citizenship document.
  • a certified copy of the original birth certificate.
  • a curriculum vitae (CV) briefly detailing work history, responsibilities, and research experience, if relevant to the application.
  • one academic recommendation letter and one other recommendation letter (e.g. recommendation letter by a work supervisor).
  • English Proficiency certificate (IELTS result with an overall score of at least 6.5 or TOEFL score of at least 84, with a minimum of 21 in all subtests).

If all the documents above are not in English, they must first be translated and certified in English.
